Diary

During Week 2, students held both small-group and whole class discussions in which they examined which of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) should be given top priority.  Their synthesis of ideas included discussing the most pressing problems facing China within the context of our global community.  By the end of Week 2,  SDGs 4 & 13 rose to the top: Quality Education and  Climate Action.  Some students wanted to make public service announcement (PSA) posters, while others are investigating ways they might communicate with government officials.  Despite the May 1 public holiday, students moved the conversation forward into Week 3, sorting out what they already know and what they still need to learn. They are currently doing more research about how they might influence education systems within China and in other countries, as well as taking some time out to see what other around the world are saying about innovation and the SDGs.
