Our Projects

Middle School Model UN Week 1

As part of their participation in Koen Timmers Innovation Project the Model UN team begins the project by discussing the concept of Innovation before moving into where we see it in Chicago and where it is most needed in society.  Our group meets once a week for 45 minutes. After our discussion we worked in pairs to draw and discuss what kins of innovations will emerge in schools and homes in the next 12 years and who will benefit from those.

Week 2 - We focus on SDG

For the second week of the SDGInnovationProject students in middle school Model UN explored the SDG's of 1, 2, 4, 6, 14 and explored some other recent innovations made by young people which have impacted the world and took a swipe at the SDG's.  In the very short time that we meet each week, attempted to come up with an innovation that would put a dent in accomplishing these goals. Students then drafted their prototypes, and shared them with the rest of the class.
